Four-letter words? In class? Of course!!

The Four-letter Word Game is fun, requires no special equipment and works with any number and level of students.

Amount of time needed: 5 minutes and up

Students: any level

Number of players: any number

Here’s how to play:

Write a word with four letters on the board (good ones to use are: word, cars, more).  Tell students to make a new word by changing only one letter.  Give an example to clarify, if necessary (wood, care, mare).  You can make the game more challenging by having students make sentences with the word they suggest.

Stand back and let the four-letter words fly!
